Self Esteem Affirmations – Simple and Effective Ways to Conquer

Thousands of people suffer from low self-esteem and have no idea what to do about it. You may be one of these people to whom self reliance is alien to your nature, and you often rely on others who are able to think in a positive manner, and have high self-esteem.

Positive self-esteem affirmations can be learned just by utilizing a few simple steps that will enable you to change the way you think and shape your self confidence, allowing you to become that positive person. Unfortunately, not enough people realize that self-esteem issues can be overcome with this method, and many continue to have negative thoughts about themselves.

The very first thing you will have to do is to define exactly what high self-esteem means to you.

Think about the people you may know who are confident in life and who have no self-esteem issues. This may be the standard by which you choose to build your own self-esteem, or you may aspire to even higher self-esteem affirmations.

Before a platform of self confidence can be established, you have to be able to see what it is that makes a person hold themselves in high esteem. Until you can do this, your goals of becoming more self confident are pointless.

To begin, write a list of the confidence issues where you have the most difficulty. Perhaps you are not able to speak out in public because you find that talking to strangers is impossible to do. You may feel that you will be ridiculed, or that nothing you can say could possibly interest someone you don’t know. Whatever the reasons or the areas of difficulty, write them down. This makes it much easier to put the self-esteem issues into perspective. In essence, your list should include how you perceive self confidence, and the specific problems you are having with your own self-esteem.

Basically, to be able to establish your own self-esteem affirmations, there is a specific formula that includes four principles for you to follow that will enable you achieve your self-esteem aspirations.

The first thing you will learn is how to think in the present time, and that each thought and idea must not contain negative words such as cannot, will not or any other form of negativity. Each formed thought must always be in the first person, such as “I will,” or “I can,” and all ideas you have must be assertive and action related as to how you will approach each step in the self-esteem affirmation principles.

Use positive phrasing when referring to what you plan on doing, such as statements like “I will approach people I am not acquainted with and speak to them,” or “I will assert myself in my business dealings.” Each statement you make should be affirmative in nature, occur at the present time, focus on an action that is definite and specific, and always be thought of or spoken in the first person. Re-read your list to see that all theses guidelines and positive self-esteem affirmations are included, and then begin to put into practice what you have learned by practicing aloud.

This is not something that can be done on an occasional basis. You need to practice regularly for it to become a belief and a habit. Speaking out loud will actually train the mind to think only positive thoughts consistently. It’s actually exactly how you would train your body physically to get it into shape. It may seem awkward and unnatural at first, but the more you practice, the easier it becomes. Be consistent and committed, and practice each and every day. The time will come when self confidence will be as natural as breathing to you.
